Lacoona Group Ltd. was founded in 2004 to become the parent company of Welantech International (www.welantech.com or www.welantech.com.cn), which was founded in Taipei, Taiwan in 1980. Welantech International has a global reputation in the trading of petro-chemical equipment, optic fibres, and LCD screens, as well as their components.

In the same year, Lacoona also ventured into China, by setting up a fully owned subsidiary, under the name Lacoona China. Lacoona China is the import/export company for the Lacoona Group in China.

The Lacoona Group has operations in Europe and Asia, and is currently focusing on the emerging markets in China and South East Asia, as well as Eastern Europe (with special focus on Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, and Russia). The Lacoona Group has offices in Austria, China, and Taiwan, and a representative office in the UK.
